FutureNova is celebrating having won Consumer Product Design of the Year at the prestigious Plastics Industry Award for its innovative medical-grade iPad case, FlipPad.
FlipPad is water and shock proof and can be kept sterile with standard infection control sprays. Its wipe-clean design is built to withstand harsh infection control chemicals, whilst the touch-sensitive screen allows staff to control the iPad even when wearing surgical gloves. The case can be used in operating theatres to infection control wards and can be hung on a hospital bedrail.
Mike Casey CEO FutureNova commented. “Winning this award from the industry is high praise indeed, it is a testament to the design team and the belief that we can design and build great products in Britain.”
FutureNova is a design company based in Chelmsford with offices in Kent. They design medical grade products that work with the Apple iPad and iPhone. The products are built in the UK and exported to 16 countries including the USA and Gulf States. There are 3 new products in design already and the company is recruiting to meet demand.
Launched in 2001, and held annually in London, the Plastics Industry Awards are dedicated to rewarding innovation and exceptional performance in an increasingly competitive market. Sixteen categories cover materials usage, product design, manufacturing, training and environmental performance, and entries are judged by a panel of industry experts.
