Leading UK NHS Foundation Trust will utilise OnBase and PACSGear to manage content and meet clinical and operational requirements. Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust has selected OnBase, Hyland’s enterprise information platform, to digitise and manage clinical documents.
The OnBase platform will consolidate existing documents stored in disparate repositories, whilst optimising workflows and performance across the enterprise, which aligns with the Frimley Health strategy to be a leader in health and wellbeing, delivering exceptional services for the communities they serve.
OnBase will deliver content to clinicians and staff by integrating with the Trust’s Epic EPR, which will go live in March 2022. With Hyland’s proven experience of delivering its OnBase content services solution integrated with Epic, choosing Hyland reinforced the Trust’s goal of having all patient information in one easily accessible interface.
Epic is set to replace the 200-plus legacy systems currently used in the Trust, and will hold one record for every patient, helping to plan and deliver better care and provide excellent service for their patients. OnBase will further support the improvement of medical data management and reduce operational costs. Frimley Health has also selected Hyland’s PACSGear Video-Touch 4k solution with Hyland’s Video & Image Enablement Workflow (VIEW) for Epic bringing together industry-leading, standards-based technology. With VIEW, specialty departments such as Endoscopy can capture images and video, into OnBase then deliver it to clinicians through the Enterprise Viewer within Epic.
Frimley Health will work with Hyland Healthcare on a remote implementation strategy (initially) to leverage OnBase across the Trust. The enterprise-wide strategy will allow Frimley Health to realise the full benefits of Hyland’s content services platform to better connect all departments and specialties, whilst optimising the Epic EPR.
“We are very much looking forward to using OnBase, which will seamlessly integrate with our Epic EPR to create an interoperable platform, where our existing technology investments can work together to create a comprehensive patient record,” said Lucy Barette, EPR programme director at Frimley Health. “By implementing OnBase, integrated with our Epic EPR, we will improve patient safety and an all-round better patient experience. Our staff will be able to spend more time caring for our patients as they will have faster access to information through a one patient record, and Hyland has proven experience in helping to deliver this goal.”
“Leveraging our content services platform to consolidate unstructured content, Frimley Health will benefit from the deep functionality and interoperability within OnBase and PACSGear, proven to integrate successfully with the Trust’s Epic EPR. The Trust will benefit from consolidated access to important patient information, delivering the right patient information at the right time, whilst streamlining clinical workflows,” added Christopher Brice, UK&I Healthcare sales manager for Hyland Healthcare. “With the ability to access all documentation and clinical content from within a single view, Frimley Health clinicians will be better equipped to make more informed medical decisions and optimise patient outcomes.”
Utilising Hyland Healthcare’s future-ready solutions also allows organisations to extend the value of their current IT systems, making them better able to integrate with the latest technology and connect with formerly disparate systems across different departments.
