Trustedoctor has announced a new relationship with the The London Clinic, a leading independent, charitable hospital in the heart of the Harley Street area in London, that will allow both UK patients and international patients to access video consultations, second opinons or follow-ups with The London Clinic’s world-renowned medical experts and therapists.
Trustedoctor is a digital health platform and a global network of leading experts providing video consultations in specialised healthcare. The company, established in 2016, has seen a recent growth in virtual care activity since the Covid19 outbreak. Trustedoctor allows for sharing of medical records securely and discussing those scans through data live-streaming during the video consultation. The web-based platform meets security and information governance standards and allows for an end-to-end patient pathway for virtual care.
The digital health start-up initially began with individual doctors in six countries. The platform is now being used in 12 countries, in Europe, the US and Asia with many relationships extending to hospitals and clinics of key opinion leaders already using the service. The initial focus was oncology, which remains a strong unique selling point alongside any other conditions being added to the network. The new service will be branded as “Connect”.
“This relationship with The London Clinic will put us firmly on the map within the private healthcare market in the UK. So far, we have been working across the UK with individual doctors, private clinics and Private Patient Units of NHS Hospitals,” said Lukasz Rzeczkowski, Co-founder and Chief Development Officer of Trustedoctor. “We are pleased we are able to make a significant impact for patients who are looking for the leading medical expertise while awaiting their treatments.”
“Connect is an important part of our overall mission of advancing healthcare,” comments Al Russell, Chief Executive at The London Clinic.
“As both an independent hospital and charity, we see our responsibility as being to increase collaboration and community in our industry – on a local and international level – as well as making healthcare easier to access for our patients.
“We are thrilled to be introducing this new service, which will bring some of the services of our hospital, along with the unparalleled expertise of our consultants and healthcare professionals, right into people’s homes.”
Dr Nick Maisey, a medical oncologist, has used the platform as a part of the Independent Oncology Group and is now one of the leading consultants using Connect by The London Clinic. “I have been using Trustedoctor for my video consultations for over a year. It is an incredibly useful tool for remote consultations, particularly second medical opinions, as well as keeping in touch with patients who are struggling to attend in person.”
Trustedoctor in addition to hospital partnerships in the UK and around the world and is also offering virtual care services to corporate clients including criticla insurance and employee benefits.
“This will definitely become a standard for patient-to-doctor interactions in the future,” added Dr Taff Edwards, an orthopaedic surgeon at the Royal Free Hospital and a member of London International Patient Services, who used the virtual platform to advise a patient in Russia last year. “London is a highly respected medical hub and international patients need to establish trust with their designated physicians before they make their decisions about treatment options. The Trustedoctor platform is a game changer in this sector.”
