Register Now: Webinar to Mythbust Smartphone Diagnostic Readers

The potential of mobile phones to revolutionise point of care testing will be explored during a webinar hosted by leading smartphone diagnostics specialist Novarum™ DX.

The webinar, which takes place on Wednesday February 21st, will highlight how smartphone technology can be used to accurately read and share the results of diagnostic tests. It will also address the common misconceptions surrounding accuracy, device connectivity, data security and mobile medical app regulations.

BBI Solutions acquired Novarum DX in October 2016 after recognising the disruptive power of smartphone readers to shape technologies for next generation diagnostics. Novarum’s patented image-capture technology enables disposable tests for toxicology, infectious or auto-immune disease to be accurately read using nothing more than a smartphone. Test results are shared securely to a dedicated portal which is accessible by healthcare professionals, or specific end-users online, as part of a mobile eco-system.

With over a decade of experience in mHealth development within diagnostics industry, Novarum Founder and BBI Group Head of Mobile Dr Neil Polwart, will host the smartphone myth-busting webinar.

Dr Polwart will talk about the levels of sensitivity achieved by smartphone cameras, including how Novarum’s test choreography can reduce errors during point of care testing.

He said: “We’re incredibly excited about the opportunities that mobile presents to deliver connected health and true point of care technology. Even now, in this mobile age, misconceptions still exist around how disruptive technologies, like smartphones, can transform healthcare. I’m looking forward to having an open discussion about the technology whilst drawing upon use-cases from different industries.”

Novarum’s smartphone readers enable tests to be performed in challenging locations where access to healthcare is often remote. The technology also empowers patients to diagnose and monitor chronic conditions from the comfort of their own home.
