Today, over 40 million seniors with dementia are living around the world. One of the common problems of the dreadful disease is that those with dementia may have difficulty remembering where they came from, a huge issue if they have wondered off and are lost.
Adam Sobol, Founder and CEO of Careband has invented a new product which combines cutting-edge location and activity monitoring technologies with brilliant design to empower people with dementia and their caregivers.
The bracelet enables caregivers to visually locate the wearer whilst sitting at their workstation or on their mobile devices. It can be programmed to send notifications about the wearer’s movement or behavior trend and has the ability to track up to three miles outdoors. It also comes equipped with fall detection (without requiring the wearer to press a button) and the bracelet has a long-lasting battery.
It works by combining powerful wireless technologies including Bluetooth, LPWAN and GPS with sophisticated machine learning algorithms.
