It is in Marseilles, in an exceptional Life Sciences ecosystem at the heart of the Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, where the eighth edition of BioFIT, the leading European event for early-stage deals and investment rounds in the Life Sciences field, will be held. The Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region is the second largest French centre for public scientific health research and the second French region for patent applications and clinical trials. It is also one of the most concentrated hospital networks in France with a vast array of research platform and one of the most dynamic clinical, industrial and academic research activities in France. BioFIT, the meeting place for early-stage deals and investment rounds
Since its first edition, in 2010, BioFIT has emerged as the leading partnering event in Europe to source early-stage deals innovations and collaborative research capacities in Life Sciences, and also to obtain funding to seed rounds. In response to Biotech and Life Sciences challenges of our society, the challenge is to promote and accelerate R&D and innovation partnering opportunities. A conference programme that aims to widen the scope of the topics discussed
For this 2019 edition and steered by a prestigious Committee, the BioFIT conference programme brings together bright minds to debate on innovation-focused topics, to foster learning inspiration and wonder, and provoke conversations that matter. The conference programme deals with the academia-industry collaborations, investment trends, pre-seed, seed and Series A in the field of Life Sciences.
This year, the plenary session will wonder “What is pharma looking for nowadays?”, focusing on collaboration and licensing opportunities pharma is looking for, while changing from a drug developer to a healthcare solution provider. It aims at understanding pharma’s view point, the consequences for the orientation deals, the way it is going to influence the relationships with academia and biotech start-ups. Also, the One Health concept will be exploring through two conferences about animal healthcare solutions and animal health industry.
