100% Digital Leeds is the health and care theme of the annual Leeds-based festival, and will bring together international, national and local perspectives on current digital themes in health and care between 23rd April and 3rd May 2019.
The programme of free events, curated by mHabitat on behalf of Leeds City Council and NHS Leeds Clinical Commissioning Group, will explore a broad spectrum of topical digital health tech issues – from the ethics of artificial intelligence, through to how we use personal data and the impact of social media on vulnerable teens.
Key speakers will include representatives from the event programme’s sponsor, the UK’s leading privately-owned IT and business consultancy BJSS, NHS England, NHS Digital, international speakers, academic experts, patients and citizens with first-hand experience of using digital to manage their conditions, and industry.
Other topics included in this fascinating schedule are focused on human-centred design, tech for good, asset-based community-focused digital (ABCD), digital inclusion, health tech innovation, and apps and wearables.
Most of these events will be hosted by recently-launched Co>Space North, a collaboration and co-working space in the heart of the city.
Dr Victoria Betton, managing director and founder of mHabitat said: “Through the 100% Digital Leeds events programme, we’re aiming to provide a more holistic view of the digital health landscape and examine how we can work collaboratively on the opportunities and challenges that digital presents.
“There’s some fascinating and innovative digital health tech stuff happening in Leeds right now, and we’d love anyone with an interest in the future of health and care to come along and get involved. They can do this by visiting the mHabitat or Leeds Digital Festival website for more event information and to book a place.”
Tom Riordan, Chief Executive of Leeds City Council adds: “the city and the wider Yorkshire region is a real hotbed of digital innovation, and this is something that we should all take great pride in. We’re delighted to be involved with bringing this exciting health and care-themed events programme to the wider Leeds Digital Festival schedule”.
Susheel Dodeja, BJSS Head of Healthcare, comments: “BJSS is at the forefront of supporting healthcare providers to adopt new technologies and deliver step-change improvements.
